Digg Front Page
Friday December 21th 2007, 01:25 am

The traffic on LoveGirls is consistent; at least 1000 unique visitors go to the site every day. Although it gets good traffic and page views it appears that not many of the users have the Alexa toolbar installed. It's currently ranked at around the 130,000 mark, I know the Alexa Ranking isn't an accurate measurement of traffic, but for marketing purposes I would like the site to sit above 100,000 for the 3 month average.

I had a page on Internet Dreamer stumbled last week and it brought in a good amount of traffic and a large Alexa spike, it made me wonder how easy it is to get on the front page of Digg with a picture and how much traffic it would pull into the site. So, today I added this picture, crossed my fingers, and harassed a few friends.

Here Goes Everything
Thursday December 20th 2007, 23:17 pm

This morning I handed in my resignation letter, sorry to disappoint but not the one I wrote here, it was a very professional, polite one. Something which I regretted the moment they told me they wouldn't waiver my 3 months notice. I have to go in work tomorrow for a meeting with one of the managers, it seems if you're mentally stable and have no grievances then they don't mind you being in the office after you've resigned.

Unfortunately I have big plans for the next 3 months so I'm unable to work the notice period, something my project manager couldn't quite grasp. I know it will come across as unprofessional to walk out without giving notice, but I really feel it's the right thing to do. I don’t have many options, it looks like it will be down to:

My Shiny New T-Mobile iPhone
Tuesday December 18th 2007, 21:37 pm

Thanks to some super clever geeks in the Czech Republic I have a UK iPhone working with a T-Mobile sim, I got a nasty cut on the knuckle of my left index finger, but it was worth it!

So how did I get it working with T-Mobile? I bought a registered UK iPhone from Ebay, that meant the phone would work with any O2 sim without me being held into an 18 month contract. I then bought a TurboSim from a tech guy at work who managed to get hold of a whole batch of them before Bladox, the company who manufacture them, ran out of stock. The TurboSim tricks your phone into thinking your sim is a valid O2 sim, so you can use any UK network with your Iphone.

Resignation Letter : First Draft
Tuesday December 11th 2007, 11:54 pm

I was reminded today that I only have 8 days left until I resign so I decided to work on my resignation letter ...

Dear Ms ******

As required by my contract of employment, I hereby give you 3 months notice of my intention to resign.

I feel that I can no longer be part of a company that is slowly zapping every ounce of creatively I have left in me. If I continued to work here you will need to promote me to Project Manager so I, like yourself, can spend my days booking in none existing meetings so I can get my hair cut, do a spot of shopping, go for a massage or take a nice stroll around Covent Gardens.

Punkd Launches
Saturday December 8th 2007, 18:04 pm

I decided to launch punkd.co.uk, I heard YouTube had to pull all the Viacom movies from their site and there are a reasonable amount of searches performed for the show each day. I wanted to see how quickly I could launch a site and add content so I modded the design I made for this site and it took over 7 hours including finding some videos, although it will need a lot more adding. Also it was fun site to make as I love the show!

Procrastination
Wednesday December 5th 2007, 12:32 pm

I have always considered myself a procrastinator, but I didn't think of it as a major problem until recently friends started to complain that I spend too much time working. I was talking to a colleague at work and he suggested that I keep a diary for a few days so I can see how productively my time is spent. After looking through it, out of the 14 hours a day I tell myself I work, around 6 hours each day are wasted. So, if I could learn to "work smart" then I could either accomplish twice as much or regain my social life, happy days!

People assume that procrastinators do nothing when infact it's the exact oposite, I'm busy doing something all the time. The problem lies with prioritising, instead of doing import work I do marginally useful smaller bits of work because they are a way of putting off the more important jobs, the imortant jobs then become urgent, and working under pressure and to tight deadlines has always been a productive for me. It's all about finding a motivator.
